April 23, 2017

The SNP’s Member of the Scottish Parliament for Caithness, Sutherland and Ross, Gail Ross, has today welcomed the news of the exclusivity agreement between Kincardine Offshore Wind Limited (KOWL) and Kishorn Ports Limited, which will see the construction of concrete caisson for offshore renewable energy production.

Speaking today Gail said:

“It is simply fantastic what the companies have achieved here at Kishorn, they’ve taken a solid idea and brought it to fruition for the benefit of not only the economy, but also the environment.”

“It’s so refreshing to see an enthusiastic and positive team working together and I’m very encouraged to see the partnership working with HIE, the Highland Council and the Scottish Government on this project.”

“Looking to the future, I hope that plans will be made for the area which will accommodate workers and their families. I hope that this project will lead to a legacy of reinvigoration for this area of Wester Ross and for the Highlands as a whole.”
